Thoma Sehnsucht

Living and working in Italy but known only
pseudonymously, THOMA SEHNSUCHT insists on
remaining one step behind the artwork. His practice
is grounded in the ferm belief that art conversations
should begin with what is inside the frame, rather
than what surrounds it.
His artworks develop organic, ambiguous forms that
take shape between the biological and the imaginary;
their persistent subject the threshold between life and
death, the moment when form has not yet decided
what it will become.
Exploring processes of transformation, instability, and
becoming, they invite viewers into a direct encounter
with the transient nature of existence.
The artist is deeply grateful to all those who have
placed their trust in the work, whether through
exhibitions or acquisition.
Curators, agents, and galleries are always welcome
to reach out for a meeting or request a more detailed
résumé, but the art always speaks first.
