Loran Guillot

Loran Guillot’s work stands out for its singular intensity and a highly mature
artistic mastery.

His painting arises from a fruitful tension between momentum and resistance,
between the initial impulse and the accident that transforms it.

For him, opening the canvas in an almost telluric act is akin to opening up a depth: a primordial terrain where matter becomes the site of an inner excavation.

The artist, like an archaeologist of the unconscious, excavates the strata of dream, memory, and
desire, animating territories where the material seems to vibrate with the subterranean movements of
the soul.

Each pictorial layer acts as a reminiscence: it reveals, conceals, then
reappears, much like those intimate spaces where tensions, lacks, and fundamental impulses
intertwine.

Nothing is premeditated: meaning is constructed over the course of the process, in those imperceptible shifts that shape the image.
