Godson Etokakpan

Godson Etokakpan was born in 1963, Akwa Ibom State, South - South of Nigeria. He attended high school in Lagos state before proceeding to the University of Calabar, Nigeria for a BA degree in Theatre Arts in 1986. He obtained Msc in Leadership from Walden University, USA, in 2014.

He is a self-taught artist who lives and work in Rivers State, Nigeria, to which he relocated from Lagos state, after graduation in 1986

Godson is also an alumni of the Bruce Onobrakpeaya Harmattan workshop, Agbaraotu, Delta State (BOF). He is the founder and CEO of Art Climate (follow our Instagram account on artclimateng), a local studio/ gallery that provides training for artists and would be artists as well as a literary platform and an entertainment forum for the creative minded.

Godson has supported other artists in rivers state by providing his gallery for group and solo art exhibition and by providing opportunities and the enabling environment to artists for positive group using the Society of Nigerian Artist as a paltform.

He is also a writer and a poet. His first novel ‘Angala’ which talks about the Niger Delta struggle for resource control and the fallout of violence as a consequence was published in 2020.
