I have always loved visiting museums, art shows, galleries and all venues regarding art. I had never thought of creating art myself. My formal art education consisted of one course taken my senior year of high school. I had fulfilled all of my required courses and had an open class period to fill so I opted for the art class.

All of my working I have been employed as an accountant or bookkeeper. It certainly was not my passion but as they say "it pays the bills".

Several years ago I was going on a trip to Spain. I thought it might be a good idea to try to learn a little of the language. I enrolled in an evening class at the local high school and noticed the art room on my way to class. All of the students were painting the same picture and, to me, all the paintings looked pretty good. For some reason this class intrigued me every time I passed. I was drawn to it and decided that I would take it next semester. The rest is history. I took the class and became obsessed with painting. I painted long into the night, on work nights, and paid for it the next day with exhaustion. I did this for years and now I balance my painting with a part time office job.

I have since attended many workshops and taken numerous classes. I've studied at the Ridgewood Art Institute under John Osborne, with Gerog Rauch of Jocotepec Mexico and Susan Marlett of the The Art of Tuesday Night. I continue to seek knowledge in all forms including building my art library, additional classes demos and workshops. I have also found a treasure trove of excellent artists and information on the internet.
