Ilona Gaynor (1986) is a research based designer / artist eager to seek and explore new roles for design by pushing boundries and blurring the line between reality and fiction.
Her aim is, through design research to re-think political potentialities and to generate visual-theoretical and speculative, discourses around both commissioned and non-commissioned topics, resulting in projects that propose the hypothetical, the possible as well as strategies for direct action. Machines, corporations, governments, economies, politics and policies. She believes such topics are key; they continue to inhabit our lives, invisibly crossing over, crashing into one another and if we are lucky... they occasionally collapse in the most spectacular of ways.
2009 - 2011 / MA (Current) Design Interactions, Royal College of Art
2004-2007 / BA (Hons) Moving Image Design, Ravensbourne College of Design and Communications, graduated - First Class.
