Katrina Brye

Katrina Brye is a Wisconsin based artist specializing in oil paintings and digital drawing. Her current body of work, Kallos, focuses on the Ancient Greek ideal of beauty and the meticulous craftsmanship developed by the Italian Renaissance. These paintings call back to the golden era of painting while still recognizing contemporary advancements in materials and societal opinions. The focus of Kallos is to revive the idealism developed in Ancient Greek and Renaissance artwork through a soft, refined beauty that creates a pleasant environment for the viewer. In Katrina's own words: "In a time of sociopolitical turmoil, I strive to paint the world as it should be, not as it is."
