Guillaume Couffignal

Self-taught sculptor born in 1964. Guillaume Couffignal is an artist with a deep knowledge of technique and excels at finding that special moment when form and content are in perfect harmony. He goes towards the essential and his "boats" or his "theaters" are sublimated and stripped visions, sculptures whose imprint leaves a lasting mark on the retina. "To sculpt is to remove the flesh until you feel the skeleton under your fingers, the original substance of everything."
