Andrew Maes

Andrew Maes was born in Bendigo in 1958 and now lives and works in Melbourne Australia.
He completed a Diploma of Art (Painting/Printmaking) at Bendigo College of Advanced Education in 1979.
He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Victoria and New South Wales Australia.
Andrew has worked on projects such as stage sets, art workshops, and 'Artists in Schools' in partnership with Local and State Government. He currently works with the intellectually disabled at .
He is represented in collections at the Nation Gallery of Victoria, Margaret Stewart Foundation and Diamond Valley Shire Collection.
Andrews work is stylistically diverse, influenced by the ideas of identity and memory and how these evolve within the mind. He has worked in the mediums of painting, printmaking and photography. Themes cover both figurative and landscape; realism and abstraction.
