Brian Williams

Born in 1983 in Cincinnati, Ohio. I never painted anything until my son had me buy him some canvas and paint so he could try his hand at art. He didn't like it and the $400 I spent on supplies were wasting away. I did my first painting in June 2022. I found more purpose in my life through painting. I am a Stage 3 NSCLC survivor and was diagnosed in June 2020. After chemo and the surgeries I was struggling to enjoy my remission. Cancer was always looming in the distance, and through art I found relief to fill my internal void. I found myself thinking of painting when I wasn't painting. I never felt at ease no matter what I was doing. I could never relax, and enjoy myself. When I paint I'm happy, and I feel like this might be a way to leave some kind of positive legacy.

I sell cars for a living and have for almost 20 years now. I love to paint because I don't have any pressure. No one wanted me to paint, but me, and with a steady income I'm not forced to paint anything that I don't want to paint. If I had to paint for a living I'd probably not like it then. I have no formal training, and have a hard time when I do try to learn. I love making simple, vibrant, and colorful pieces of art that make people say "WTF IS THAT?!"
