Emma Franc

Emma's paintings begin with a carefully balanced composition with textured surfaces showing a light source coming through from within the picture. Whether it be a figure in an interior or objects in a still life, she looks for ways in which to recreate the composition using pattern and textures. Often drawing into the paint and creating interesting marks, mute colours are juxtaposed with bright shapes which draw the eye. Playful and sometimes brooding these works are intriguing and exciting.

Since studying for her Masters in Painting at Wimbledon School of Art she has exhibited in galleries in mainly London and the South East where she also lives.
