Manvel Matevosyan

Specializing in sculpture, I create with innovative approaches, addressing the main issues of contemporary
sculpture. I work with stone and different kinds of metals, primarily using scrap metal as my main material, valuing
the unique characteristics of each material in the work. It was within the framework of this interest that I set up my
own sculpture studio in the factory leftover from the Soviet period.
In the creative process, I pay primary attention to dimensional solutions. I am interested in the relationships and scales of forms. Working harmoniously with the form or with the material itself is the starting point. I explore and
aim to keep materials (stone, wood, metal) as authentic as possible to their original nature, even when they are
combined with non-natural materials.
The process of transformation of the materials in the workshop, allowing me to relate to the environment, be it the nature or urban, engage in dialogue, and emphasize its significance
Through my creative research and collaborative experience, I bring a unique approach to interdisciplinary projects, bridging the gap between sculpture and environmental engagement.
