RECOGNITION
Stephen (STVNDID) is an artist specializing oil and acrylic mediums, with both painting and prints available for purchase. He has been painting since 2016 in addition to a full-time career as a model in the fashion industry. He was born and raised in San Bernardino, CA and is currently based out of Ventura, CA.
Stephen’s portraits display figures in their own element gazing back at the viewer. These portrait works are an exploration of his own emotions, made to represent the pressure to change oneself by an external force that actively enforces change upon its subjects. It is a rejection of judgement by the viewer and with that, a rejection of the inherent power dynamics surrounding art and identity.
