Mr Landscapes

Marcello Ruggiero develops paintings through processes of urban observation, image reduction and spatial reconstruction.

Originating from photographs taken during periods of travel, the works transform architectural fragments, transitional spaces and surface elements into compressed compositions structured through geometry, rhythm and fragmentation.

Working across paper and canvas, the paintings move between representation and abstraction, combining spatial tension, material interference and physical surface construction.

Recent works expand these investigations through direct interventions onto the paper surface using a traditional tattoo coil machine, introducing engraved textures and disruptions within the image structure.
