Gabriela Villalba

Gabriela Villalba is an Australian-Venezuelan photographer dedicated to documentary portraiture, behind-the-scenes, and artistic photography. Gabby has dedicated herself to documenting creative processes and artists, particularly from the cultural scene in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Self-portrait photography, alternative photographic processes (especially cyanotypes) and hand-drawn photo alterations are part of her portfolio as a photographic artist.

Gabby's interest centers on human sensitivity and the natural world. Her current projects express personal experiences imbued with emotion, transforming photographs with handmade accents through various materials and techniques, whether ephemeral or permanent. Her work invites the viewer to make a deeper reflection, beyond what is immediately visible, to the world of feeling.
