Julia Suptel

I draw still lives, city scenes and landscapes in pastel for people who live overwhelming, fast-paced lives, so they can feel connected to the calm and receptive part of themselves again.

I am most interested in fleeting moments of beauty found in everyday scenes and floral arrangements. Life and love are felt, stingingly, in these little pauses we make to really take a moment and see and feel what´s around us.

I let my artworks unfold themselves on paper, rather than pushing them towards a certain vision. This process-based approach allows me experiment with techniques and color-choices a lot and teaches lessons about acceptance and flexibility in life.
