Martyn is a UK based artist whose work transforms the contemporary city into a charged psychological landscape. Working across oil, mixed media, and digital processes, he constructs urban environments that feel both concrete and mythic — neon corridors, cold nocturnes, and radiant intersections where human figures act as emotional conductors rather than subjects. His practice centres on urban painting as metaphor, using geometry, chromatic transitions, and directional light to map states of overload, solitude, and mythic intensity.
Influenced by neo‑expressionism and cinematic lighting, Martyn treats colour as a psychological engine. Saturation, temperature shifts, and value compression become narrative tools, shaping how viewers navigate the emotional architecture of each piece. Figures often dissolve into the city’s pulse — illuminated, fractured, or absorbed by its rhythms — creating a tension between vulnerability and spectacle.
His recent work explores the city as a site of myth‑making, where everyday structures acquire symbolic weight.
