Arte Kinari

Kinari is a contemporary mixed media artist creating expressive portraits that explore the connection between human emotion and nature. Working with watercolor, charcoal, Chinese ink, and organic materials such as leaves and aged paper, her pieces combine raw texture with delicate detail.

Her work focuses on the human face as a landscape of memory, vulnerability, and transformation, where natural elements reflect the cycles of life. Each piece is intuitive and layered, balancing control and spontaneity.

Daniela Frank (b. 1971, Germany), known artistically as Kinari, is a contemporary mixed media artist based in Spain. Her work focuses on expressive portraiture that explores the relationship between the human condition and the natural world.

Working with mixed media techniques including watercolor, charcoal, graphite, Chinese ink, and organic materials such as leaves, coffee, and aged paper, Kinari creates textured, layered compositions that emphasize emotion, memory, and transformation. Kinari’s artistic practice is largely self-directed and continuously developed through specialized courses and workshops, including training via Domestika. She also holds advanced training in graphic and visual design and works across disciplines as a writer and illustrator, including children’s books.
