My name is Edvard Badalyan (born in 2001 in Yerevan, Armenia). I am a visual artist and painting restorer, currently living and working between Yerevan and Istanbul. I initially studied medicine, but over time I realized that art was the most sincere and immediate language through which I could express my emotions and thoughts. This realization marked my decisive transition from medicine to fine arts.
Since 2023, I have been working as a professional restorer at the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate of Istanbul, where I have restored more than thirty religious and historical paintings. At the same time, I have presented ninety-five original works in four solo exhibitions held in major churches across Istanbul.
My artistic language combines modernism, avant-garde, and expressionism. I mainly work with acrylic and oil on canvas or wood, often incorporating mixed techniques. For me, color and structure are not merely form, but emotion, movement, and silence.
I am currently preparing to continue my studies in painting restoration at the University of Turin – Center for Conservation and Restoration “La Venaria Reale”, in order to deepen my knowledge in this field.
