Dr. Clarence Gardener is an interdisciplinary public health researcher, musician, and self-taught artist whose work explores the relationship between aesthetics, sensory experience, and human well-being. As the creator of the Aesthetic Determinants of Health (ADOH) and Aesthetic Determinants of Stress (ADOS) frameworks, his artistic practice reflects many of the same principles found in his research—examining how color, form, space, and emotion shape lived experience. Working in a style he calls Transformative Expressionism, Gardener creates abstract works that invite reflection, restoration, and deeper engagement with the human condition, bridging the worlds of art, health, and environmental experience.
