Gurvan Prioul

I live and work in Paris. I have always drawn while taking care not to keep anything. My work is never the same and follows no rules. I archive and bear witness to everyday life in a brutal way, to compensate for my weak memory.

I work with what falls into my hands (ink, oil pastels, ...). In order not to get bored, I drink a lot of coffee, and accept the brutality of the gesture which allows me to let myself be surprised. I do not claim any ideal of beauty, I have nothing to prove, I do not believe in talent or genius, even less in novelty. I draw, day by day, every day, by a vital necessity.
