Daiva Kazakeviciene

I am Daiva Kazakevičienė, from Lithuania. My journey with color—and with exploring my emotions through art—began at forty. I often paint using sponges, experimenting to discover new tones and textures. In my work, I include unconventional materials such as grains, cocoa, and spices, which help create unique surfaces and moods. Through these elements, I aim to express universal emotions and the imagery that lies within our subconscious. These inner visions become abstract forms, sometimes gently touched by fragments of landscapes.
Color remains the core of my creative process. Soft pastel combinations evoke lightness and calm, while the dynamic balance between stillness and movement reflects the connection between nature and humanity. Contrasts—such as sky and sea—shift between blending seamlessly and standing in clear opposition. Each detail emerges from the moment of touch, guided by my intention to capture subtle feelings and the passing nuances of time.
