Monica Le Crom

I paint doorways into stories beyond the visible, waiting to be imagined.

I am a French and Colombian artist, born in Honduras and based in Amsterdam. I explore moments that make me stop and wonder—a face lost in thought, an animal watching something unseen, an old doorway, a forgotten street, a landscape transformed by light.

My paintings often begin with something I have observed, remembered or imagined. As I paint, something unexpected can reveal itself: a mood, a question, a feeling, a story.

Although I work with vivid colours, my paintings create a sense of stillness—a quiet space where the imagination can spark, wander and discover stories beyond the visible.

I don't want to tell the whole story. I want to leave the door open, allowing each viewer to enter and discover their own story.
