Marco De Mirto was born in San Cesario di Lecce in 1979. In 1998 he graduated from the "Giuseppe Pellegrino" Art Institute in Lecce. He moved to Rome for a short period, to study Caravaggio and the Caravaggeschi in particular Jusepe De Ribera.
