Lydia Laidinen is originally from St Petersburg, Russia. Currently she lives and work in South of France.
Her contemporary paintings created in a realistic manner, using traditional techniques and materials (oil, watercolor).
She has been interested in art since childhood as her mother and grandmother were talented self-tought watercolor artists.
"I take pleasure in learning from nature, trying to capture all nuances of colour as the impressionists did. In my art, I work in different genres: landscapes, still life, plein air ..”
All my works are painted in oils on canvas and finished with a coat of varnish which protects the paintings and adds brilliance to the works.
