Cassidy Barnes

Cassidy Barnes is a mixed-media artist (and actor) whose creations defy easy categorization. His studio, a chaotic symphony of repurposed materials and half-finished masterpieces, is a testament to his self-taught approach. While a couple of high school art classes provided a foundational understanding of color theory and perspective, his true education comes from relentless experimentation. Transforming the detritus of modern life into vibrant, often humorous, works of art. His style is a bold fusion of shimmering excess and sardonic wit, with a touch of grunge.

He avoids the preciousness often associated with the art world, embracing a sense of joyful irreverence. This casual approach belies a meticulous attention to detail; his works are densely layered with meaning and texture, rewarding closer inspection.

Currently, Cassidy's work can be viewed at the Trevor Wayne shop in Palm Springs and the Artist Tree in Los Angeles. His pieces are a testament to the transformative power of creativity and the beauty that can be found in unexpected places.
