Peihang Huang

My work is at the crossroads between image and imagination. I explore the relationship between an object and its dual image, deconstructing its reality, as I perceive it and rebuilding it blended with elements I borrow from other contexts.

Recently by challenging the perception of reality, I explore the hidden relations between visual documents of the human experience. Starting with collages of photographs gleaned from historical sources and everyday media, I look for the subtle associations that persist through time and space. I intend to recreate a world that is both familiar and yet at odds with our daily experience, questioning our relation to history, and how perceptions are constructed.
