Abigail is a transatlantic visual artist working and living between Barcelona, Southern Maine and New York. She uses a variety of techniques in her work, including automatic drawing, painting, quilting and dyeing.
She draws her visual inspiration very much from fashion and textiles, as well as from the patterns and aesthetics of nature. Her artwork is centred on the themes of corporeality, ornamentation, and psychedelia — all of which are directly related to personal experience.
Abigail’s studies include education, illustration, fine art and fashion design. She has studied at the New School in New York City and graduated from Escola Massana Center for Art and Design in Barcelona with a Bachelors in Art and Design. She is currently studying fashion design at Escola de La Dona in Barcelona. She is deeply interested in the embedded knowledge found in communal artisan techniques as well as fashion and clothing and plans to continue studying and applying these concepts to her own work.
