John Kollig has been painting for 25 years following different aesthetic paths on his visual journey and artistic career. John has studied art at City Art College of San Francisco, the Academy of Art (sf) the Atelier of Thomas Leighton (sf) and earned an MFA in painting from Western Michigan University. Kollig’s work has been exhibited in many gallery venues including the Florence Biennale, Biennale Internazionale dell’arte Contemporanea. From Kollig’s Freedom Series, eight paintings were selected by Winn Devon Press for limited edition series of 85 each sold internationally to designers. His work can be found in Institutions, Corporations and Personal Collections.
Career experience in the arts include teaching painting and life drawing at university level, instructing workshops, and as juror for Michigan arts exhibitions; visual merchandising manager and director for retail stores; interior designer for Jacobson’s; and art advisor for the School of Art Western Michigan University.
