Gregoris Ioannou Tomazou

I am an abstract artist living and working in London.

My artistic style is characterized by dynamic and vivid abstracted paintings, which have gained recognition through exhibitions in the UK, Greece, and Cyprus.

My goal as an artist is to invite viewers to interpret and engage with my work in their own unique way. My abstract creations resonate with the viewers’ own memories, feelings, and personal experiences, fostering a meaningful connection between the artwork and the observer.
My artistic philosophy is not only about the final result but also about the journey and exploration that takes place within the studio.

In terms of thematic exploration, I delve into the imagery of the past, drawing inspiration from visually collected shapes, patterns, and the structure of memories. My paintings reflect a deep connection to the physical nature of his surroundings, guiding the compositions through mark-making and abstracted shapes to capture emotive places.

My studio practice involves working on series of paintings, beginning in an impulsive manner. This process is central to my fascination, leading to a point where a final composition and balance naturally evolve.

I have a Masters Degree in Painting from the University of the Arts London (UAL).
I also graduated from Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece
with a First class BA (Hons) in Fine Art.
Also, I studied Set and Stage Design for Theatre Performance at UAL and Technical Theatre at Athens School of Fine Arts.

My paintings have been exhibited in UK, Greece and Cyprus. My paintings are in several private and corporate art collections.
