Ángela María Lozano Rivera

I am a Colombian artist with over 20 years of experience. Throughout my artistic practice, experimentation has been the cornerstone of many of my projects. I typically develop series where my main interest is to work on concepts such as time, the ephemeral, the eternal, ecological themes, social-environmental awareness, and personal topics. Through observing my reality, I delve into the responsibility of our actions, concluding that as human beings, we must embrace nature since we are part of it. Understanding the importance of my inner world, as well as that of all individuals, has always been linked to my work, while not neglecting to critique society which, in my view, prioritizes material interests over harmony and balance with the environment. However, I also reflect on my own life; I am very self-critical, analyzing my own processes of physical and mental transformation, accepting and recognizing myself, which is reflected in much of my work.

All of this has led me to think about human survival, particularly my own, my son's, and my family's. In this way, I contemplate how to solve and generate changes from individuality and social consciousness through my language, art.
