Bo Godiva

When not at one of Sydney's beautiful beaches, Bo is in the studio capturing the essence of her vibrant seaside environment.
A passionate ocean swimmer, she loves watching the sunrise while doing a morning swim with her friends.

‘I aim to capture the essence of Australian beach life. My focus firstly on colour, and then on the dynamic compositional play between human figures, the ocean’s expanse, and abstracted colour fields. I’m inspired by the joy I feel when I am connected to the ocean's energy and translate energy into colour. I invite the viewer to enjoy coastal life from a new perspective.’

After completing her Fine Arts degree, Bo attended numerous courses with renowned colourists such as Cathrine Kehoe and Susan Lichtman to further her knowledge and passion for colour. She is greatly inspired by the early 20th Century Sydney Moderns, such as Roy de Maistre and Grace Cossington Smith and their use of colour in an Australian context. Bo celebrates her love of Australian outdoor life through her vibrant paintings of locals in their happy place near the ocean.
