Marta Perry - Majuper Art

I create expressionist, impasto pieces using acrylics on canvas, sometimes incorporating hand-made papers and objects from nature. Before specialising in this medium, I was a tapestry designer for over 10 years and exhibited at the Business Design Centre in London. I have lived amongst the Cotswold Hills in southern England for over 30 years. Before that I lived in Vienna, Austria and France. The former was a consequence of having an Austrian mother and English father which also provides me with a pan-European view of the world. Majuper Art is the label under which I sell my art.

My paintings are a visual rendering of emotional states and life experiences. I am inspired by the patterns and textures I find in the world around me. I would like my audience to feel the same sense of intrigue and inspiration when they experience my work.

I can be inspired by a flash of colour in nature or the grain in a piece of wood and the emotions these experiences engender within me. Having a deep fascination with the stories behind the artwork I create, I envisage these revealing themselves to each person anew.

I have studied at the University of Vienna and the University of Franche-Comté and continue to develop my artistic skills, having undertaken several courses at the University of Gloucestershire.
