Maria Gomes

I am a Portuguese, London-based artist. My practice consists of an exploration of perception, growth, natural cycles and space.
I use biomorphic forms as my visual language, which are translations from intuition to movement/gesture, to form. Through this process I attempt to lock my movement in a moment in time. Most of my work is oil on canvas, however I experiment a lot with oil on paper, collage and charcoal on paper.
