My name is Abderrahim BENJABBAR. I was born in Safi and raised in Essaouira. I have loved art and drawing since childhood. Since my birth, I found myself sitting next to my father, who was passionate about drawing. My father was a businessman who owned fishing boats, so most of his subjects were spontaneous scenes of boats accompanied by birds at sunset on the sea.. For these reasons, I found myself an artist from a young age. The second important factor that developed my relationship with drawing was my upbringing in the city of Essaouira, which, as you know, is considered the cradle of visual arts in our country. My small environment was my family, and my larger environment was the city. These factors were an effective motivation for me to become an artist without hesitation. As for my first real exposure to visual art, it was at the hands of the late visual artist Hussein Al-Miloudi, who noticed my talent and my innate desire to become a visual artist.
