Description of my art approach and creation practice- with works
It may be considered as investigations in few parallel fields of work. The common idea that emerges from all of my art practice is a play with the memories, past events and mechanisms of forgetting or remembering. On the other hand, I work with transformations of collective and subjective identities. For that purpose, I practice various ways of expressing myself through installations, paintings and photography. Also, I use computer interventions trying to keep them as simple as possible, like enlarging, cropping end similar. During my creation process I usually work with multiple media at the same time.
I am trying to maintain the life of the painting in itself. Although it may seem like deconstruction of the painting it is not my goal. It is more the possibility, that we obtain with the digital revolution, that the picture has the possibility of the change in itself and creation and existence of painting in space and time. I find the influence of the digital environment, although it rises many critics and discussions, being inevitable because of its incredible capabilities and an impact on everyday life. Nerica Kolakovic born 18.03.1967., lives and work in Belgrade, Serbia. Her formal art education consists of
2003-PhD studies at Universidad Compultense de Madrid Spain
1986-1992-MFA degree in Fine Arts at Faculty of Fine Arts Belgrade, Serbia
1984-Studied at Student Art League New York USA
From1993- 2003 she worked as a designer at BK television Member of Association of fine artists of Serbia from 1994. Her work may be considered as experimentations in few parallel fields of work. The common idea that emerges from all of her art practice is play with memories, past, mechanisms of forgetting or remembering.
