Masatro Lab

Katyia Mastrorocco is an independent artist based in Granada, working under the name Masatro Lab — a living space for artistic research, open to change and transformation.

She works with oil on cotton canvas, charcoal, acrylics, and mixed media, allowing intuition to guide her choice of materials. Her practice is driven not by predetermined themes but by emotional urgency — inner movements searching for form and color.

Fears, insights, desires, and vital impulses surface in each work, making every piece unique and unrepeatable. For Katyia, every painting is an act of presence.

Self-taught, with a practice shaped by years of independent research — studying painting techniques, observing other artists at work, and immersing in the history of art from its origins to the present: its movements, its ruptures, its evolutions.

From the classical traditions to Romanticism, Symbolism, Dada, and beyond. Additional training in relief printmaking. Academic background in technology.
