Erin Tiedeman

Working primarily in acrylic, Erin Tiedeman creates intuitive abstract paintings that reflect the rhythm and complexity of the natural world. Layer by layer, she moves between moments of deliberate control and spontaneous chaos, allowing each painting to evolve rather than forcing a predetermined outcome. The flowing forms, textured surfaces, and organic movement found throughout her work echo the patterns of plants, water, and the ever changing landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

Painting is both a creative practice and a way of processing anxious energy. Erin’s work is rooted in the connection between breath, movement, and mark making, where each gesture becomes part of a quiet dialogue between intention and instinct. Influenced by the philosophy of wabi sabi, she embraces imperfection and uncertainty, believing that beauty often emerges through change. Her hope is that each painting invites viewers to slow down, discover something new over time, and experience the same balance of tension and calm that shaped its creation.
