ABOUT
EDUCATION

I returned to painting at the age of 40, after having left it behind in primary school. Living for two decades each in Istanbul and Edirne, two historically rich cities, shaped my sensitivity to place, memory, and layered time. My work focuses on stillness, atmosphere, and moments that linger rather than assert themselves. I am now based in Fethiye, one of the most beautiful cities of the Mediterranean, living within an inspiring natural environment that continuously informs my palette and visual language.

My painting process is rooted in Impressionism and Pointillism, approached not as rigid styles but as a meditative and physical practice. I take particular pleasure in building each image through thousands of deliberate brushstrokes, allowing color, rhythm, and repetition to slowly reveal form and atmosphere. This layered approach makes time, patience, and movement visible on the surface, turning the act of painting itself into an essential part of the work.

Through landscapes, interiors, and subtle human presence, I aim to create quiet spaces where memory and place intersect. I hope these paintings resonate with those who take a moment to pause and look.

My earliest connection to painting began in primary school in Edirne, where I was first encouraged by my art teacher — to whom I remain grateful. Although my formal education followed a different path, this early influence quietly stayed with me.

After graduating from Marmara University, Faculty of Business Administration, I worked in leading advertising agencies such as Grey and Saatchi & Saatchi / BBDO, where I developed a strong visual sensibility and narrative awareness. I later continued my career in the media industry, working in managerial roles that further shaped my understanding of storytelling, structure, and audience perception.

After the age of 40, I returned fully to painting with a renewed desire to learn. Since then, I have been continuously educating myself in painting techniques and art history, approaching my practice with curiosity, discipline, and long-term commitment.
