Mark Hartill

I am a British fine-art photographer working exclusively in black and white.
My practice explores silence, distance, and permanence within the landscape, with a focus on spaces shaped by time, weather, and absence rather than human presence. I am less interested in documenting place as description, and more concerned with revealing quiet structures that hold memory and stillness.
The work is produced as part of an ongoing, long-term body of work and printed in carefully controlled, limited editions using museum-grade materials. Each photograph is intended not as decoration, but as a contemplative object for collection.
