Cherie Irwin

My work emerges from a deep need to find moments of peace and calm in an increasingly complex world. Through careful attention to colour relationships, compositional harmony, and the subtle interplay of forms, I create a meditative space that calms my own nervous system. This deeply intuitive and spiritually informed process of searching to find and express my own inner light results in sacred geometries, divine figures, compositions that explore the sacred balance between masculine and feminine energies, and a recurring motif of butterfly wings that symbolizes the ongoing process of personal and collective transformation.
My hope is that viewers might recognize and connect with their own inner light. Each piece becomes an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember our innate connection to the soul of the world.

I have participated in many art and writing courses, including studying formally at Aoraki Polytechnic. I also travel widely seeking to be influenced by the art of the world. To be honest, I have found that bravely listening to my own intuition and having the courage to show up to do the work each day is what really counts.
