Light, nature, and the art of photography

I’ve always been captivated by light—its secrets, its power, its ever-changing expression. My journey in photography began in a darkroom, where I learned to manipulate light to evoke emotions. Growing up in a family of photographers in Corigliano d’Otranto, Lecce, I was surrounded by the art of capturing moments.

After working in Verona with my older brother, I moved to Bologna for love. The city’s vibrant cultural scene profoundly shaped my photographic perspective. In 1996, I opened my own studio, merging my passion for photography with darkroom development. Specializing in fine art prints, I gained recognition, collaborating with galleries and Italian artists.

In 2007, I became the official stage photographer for the Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Bologna, a role I held until 2021. The theater opened a new world to me—a world I’d admired as a spectator but now explored with my camera. Capturing performances required constant observation and a meticulous eye. I attended rehearsals, studied gestures, and waited for the perfect moment to capture the essence of the performance.
