Abdulcebbar Avci

Abdulcebbar Avcı, who studied cinema and philosophy, has research interests in the philosophy of art, pre-cinema, the history of cinema, and experimental cinema. He has worked as an art director, screenwriter and director. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema.

Approaching cinema as an art of rhythm, his work emphasizes cinematographic image and memory.

In his video art “Projection in Wartime” (2026), which examines conventional film production and the workings of the media, Avcı focused on concepts such as time and memory.
