Dona Arnakis

I am concerned with the organic form of things and bodies. I enjoy working with various techniques, but drawing is what I am most drawn to. Anything can inspire me, from my own self to the furniture in my home and beyond.

My core intention is to create; in my drawings I explore the idea of the “self,” of self-awareness, projections into the future, and moments of the present. At other times, there is no independent concept at all—only impulse.

In 2018 I had a personal exhibition named “The Method was Yesterday” realised at Calina Foundation space, curated by Liviana Dan.
In 2022 together with my sister, Carine Arnakis, we performed an exhibition named “Daydreaming. The desire to see the world” curated by Mimi Ciora and exhibit at Indecis Artist Run Space.
