Life is nourished and shaped by personal symbolism, individual and collective stories of experience, belief, ritual, mythology, social fears, and desires. Drawing from this eclectic set of references, I create relational, poetic, and critically thought-out forms combining high and low art, using criticality and humour to explore parallel times and spaces.
My work focuses on creating space for speculative and fictitious queer bodies, survivance, and a sense of place while raising questions of belonging, conflict, and anxiety.
I combine overlooked, undervalued, and discarded objects with images and materials in an attempt to emphasize the "re-seeing" of certain histories that have been forgotten or ignored.
My oeuvre is a hybrid visual language that oscillates between gestural expression and strategy of chance. My process reflects an accumulation of life's associations, intuiting facets of intimacy, control, and the freedom of letting go of total control.
