These works explore the relationships with the women in the artist’s family and create a realm in which the narrative is recentered on the female experience and perspective.
Artist Hannah Franco’s geometric oil paintings are inspired by the quilts of her grandmother. They visually depict the stories of the matriarchal lineage of her family, breaking down the worth of craft and other undervalued “women’s work” in American culture.
