Obscuria Art

Maria Vincenza Vecchio, aka Obscuria, is a self-taught artist born in 1976 in Italy. She transforms her intense personal experience into a profound pictorial language, made up of emotions, reflections, and social commentary. Since 2024, her art has been visible to the public through works that blend acrylic paint, textiles, and recycled materials. Her expressive style addresses themes such as hope, rebirth, and inner struggle, with a material and symbolic approach.

He has already received numerous invitations from international curators and galleries (MONAT Gallery, PAKS Gallery, Holy Art Gallery, Perseus Gallery, Area Contesa Arte, World of Crete, .ART, Divulgarti), garnering praise for the narrative intensity and communicative power of his works. He signs each piece with the artist name Obscuria, accompanying it with the phrase: "Because in darkness, light can always be born."

Self-taught. I attended courses to become a fashion stylist, nail art, make-up artist and embroiderer for 35 years.
