Rachael Caskey

Rachael Caskey (né Foflygen) is an artist based in Manor, Pennsylvania, approximately 20 miles east/southeast of Pittsburgh. She loved drawing at a young age. She had many mentors throughout her life. She was encouraged to continue making art by her paternal grandmother, Ruth, who wrote beautiful Christian poetry. Her Uncle Jack Foflygen is a talented photorealistic painter who gives her advice and critiques on her art. Rachael took advanced art classes through high school. Her Burgettstown High School art teacher, Mr. John Yothers, recognized that spark of creativity in Rachael and also encouraged her to continue creating. She sold one of her senior paintings to a teacher during that time.

Although she did not study art in college, she still held that creative spark inside her heart. She married two years after graduating college. She threw herself into family life and had two sons. During that time she would make crafts with her sons, do some scrapbooking and cardmaking and even briefly sold bridal invitations. Unfortunately, her marriage did not last. After going through her separation from her marriage, she had a mental breakdown. That's when she truly began her personal journey on finding her artistic voice. Art became a form...
