Amelia Johnson

Through the lens of absurd realism, Johnson focuses on the use of papier-mâché and ceramics to sculpt colourful and comical characters. The essence of the sculptures are partly inspired by the people she sees in day-to-day life. Observing these characters she sculpts almost entirely from memory whilst analysing microcosms of society, different subcultures or regional stereotypes.
