Marlene Suter

London-born artist Marlene Suter (1976) has lived in Australia since 2016 and earned a BA (Hons) in Art & Design in 1998. She began her career in the Film industry before transitioning to freelance photography in 2007. With a deep passion for documentary and portrait work, she reveals the truth of her subjects in natural settings while also spending several years working in photography studios. In 2021, she began work on The PopDogs Project, featuring her ever-patient dog, Marlo Merle. A bold, vibrant, and playful series thoughtfully curated to evoke joy and humour while leaving a lasting aesthetic impact.

Marlene completed a BA (Hons) in Art & Design in 1998, specialising in Visual Arts, Painting, Life Drawing, photography and Design.

She completed a Foundation course in Art & Design at the University of Hatfield. 1994

Marlene's career began in the film industry's special effects department, contributing to both Hollywood and British productions. She documented projects for directors and producers while also creating various effects. Her passion for photography led her to transition into freelance work. She now works in a portrait studio while also pursuing freelance photography, specialising in portraits and documentary work.
