Whenever I create a piece of art it is because I am feeling something or going through something or the world around me is changing.
Art has always allowed me to feel powerful, it gives me the ability to express myself when words fail me.
Art shares what I may not feel comfortable sharing with my words, it also shares my happiness. When I am at peace with my inner workings.

Oh to be an artist , mom, full time worker, and community member , I have been gifted opportunities to use art for raising money, working with Design for a difference and to advocate for myself and others in shows in NYC, Chicago and Oakland.... and to share in my own shows in beautiful galleries in my city and in others
Art helps connect me, it gave me another way to survive being a single mom in this world.
It was always something I could do, no matter what supplies I had or if I needed to be home with my children when they were young.
Art has been my gift.
And, I am happy to be able to share with all of you.

My education is mostly self taught art.
I did take some life changing classes in my late 20s at William Woods college in fulton , mo.
Those classes gave me the confidence to paint and be with other artists who thought the way I did.
I was able to build my skills, thru practice and reading and researching.
I do believe in all forms of education when it comes to art.
Mine just happens to be mostly self taught and a desire to create.
